Turnips with Thyme Flowers
Ingredients
3 Turnips
Fresh thyme flowers or thyme leaves or two pinches dried
Freshly ground pepper
Lemon
Preparation
Peel the turnips. Place in an ice bath of lemon water. This cuts down on the bitterness some turnips develop. Cut the turnips into quarters or if you feel up to it, trim the quarters by turning with a paring knife until they have formed little round shapes. Drop these into boiling water for about 5 minutes. Drain, season by sprinkling herbs over the top. If you enjoy meat, these turnips are wonderful served with a small portion of lamb.
